General Information
Bangladesh nationals who wish to travel to Malaysia on a regular Bangladesh passport require a visa to enter Malaysia and permitted to stay not more than 30 days.
Visa exemption is given to Bangladesh diplomatic or official passports on reciprocal basis for a social visit purpose pursuant to the Bilateral Agreement between the Government of Malaysia and Bangladesh on the Partial Abolition of Visa Requirement for Holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports dated 2014. The visit pass is issued on arrival in Malaysia for a stay of not exceeding 30 days. However, visa is still required in the case where visitor is going for other than social visit purpose such as for studies or to undertake work or training programs in Malaysia.

How to Apply?
WCTL Malaysia Visa Application Center(MVAC) is an Authorised Visa Application Agency for applying Malaysia Visa. Apart from our main Visa Application Counter, additional counters are also operating within Dhaka city for the convenience of applicants. Visa applicant's can submit their application directly in our main counter from 2nd January 2023 and our own additional counters(Directly operated by WCTL) which will be opened at applicant's convenient location. Documents Required
Visa without Reference (Social Visit)
Visa without reference (VTR) issued and approved by the Malaysian’s Mission office abroad to a non-citizen to enable visitor to enter Malaysia for a social visit purpose. Upon arrival, visitor will be given a social visit pass for a stay of not exceeding 30 days. Bear in mind that a social visit pass is only for social visit purpose and it does not allow visitors to undertake any work, or work-related training programs or studies in Malaysia.
Below are the required documents for applying social Visa:
- Original Passport (with validity not less than 7 months from travel date with 3 continuous empty pages);
- Two (2) passport-sized photograph of applicant in matte paper (See Photo Specification);
- Previous Malaysian visa with Entry/Exit stamping;
- Booking Confirmed return flight ticket;
- Birth certificate (for minor applicants);
- Recent 6 months bank statement with a letter of solvency;
- Additional Documents (where applicable):
- Covid-19 Vaccine Certificate;
- Invitation letter from organizer or sponsor in Malaysia;
- Photocopy of English Translated trade license/business registration (for business Proprietor);
- NOC Letter for Private Job Holder;
- Government Order for Government Job Holder(Ordinary Passports holder);
- Marriage Certificate;and
- Other documents that the processing officer may require.
Visa Application for Medical Tourism
Visitors from Bangladesh who wish to go to Malaysia for a medical treatment may apply for a Visa Without Reference (social visit) and submit application to the authorised official partners of Malaysian Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) (visit https://www.mhtc.org.my/) by providing appointment letter from the medical services provider in Malaysia that are registered with the MHTC (apart from regular documents required for Visa application).
Visa with Reference (VDR)
Visa with reference (VDR) is issued by the Malaysian Mission’s office abroad to a non-citizen to enable visitor to enter Malaysia after the application is referred and approved by the Immigration Department of Malaysia. It is required for following categories.
- Visit Pass (Temporary Employment @Foreign Workers)
- Employment Pass Category I, II, III
- Student Pass
- Visit Pass (Professional)
- Visit Pass (Social)
- Dependent Pass
- Employment Pass (Sarawak)
Required Documents for (VDR):
- VDR approval letter issued by the Immigration Department of Malaysia;
- EMGS approval letter (For Student);
- Color Scan copy of Passport;
- Passport-sized photos; and
- Other documents as may be required (if any).
Fees and Charges:
Bangladesh Taka equivalent RM126 per Applicant excluding Application Processing Fee.
*** Visa Application Fee is non refundable.
Processing Time
It takes 2 working days for processing. This 2 working days processing period applies only for working days and, does not include weekends, public holidays, Malaysian holidays and any other specific countries holidays.
The 2 working days processing time also does not include unforeseen or uncontrollable events including, but not limited to, system maintenance downtime, Internet Service Provider (ISP) equipment failure, host equipment failure, communications network failure, power failure, natural events or acts of war.
How long will my eVISA be valid for?
eVISA is valid for 3 months while eVISA holder is entitled to stay for the total of days subjected to eligibility of eVISA holder nationality for each visit to Malaysia.
What is the approval process for eVISA?
- All required information must be provided, and please ensure all uploaded documents fulfilled the required specification to avoid rejection;
- All Visa application will be considered on the merits, and the High Commission of Malaysia has the right to seek additional information or request for an interview at any stage of processing;
- The High Commission of Malaysia reserves the right to refuse a Visa application without providing any reason; and
- The fact that an application for a Visa is received through the High Commission of Malaysia will not guarantee that the Visa will be issued.
Will I have to print out my eVISA?
Yes, you are required to printout and will receive your eVISA in an A4 printout format. Kindly be reminded that your eVISA printout is crucial and must be presented upon your arrival at Malaysia entry checkpoints.
What are the documents needed upon arrival at Malaysia entry checkpoints?
The following documents are required to be presented upon arrival in Malaysia entry checkpoints:
1) Valid passport / travel document;
2) Valid eVISA printout (eVISA Note);
3) Boarding pass;
4) Sufficient funds (Cash / Traveler’s Cheque / Debit or Credit Cards / e-Wallets recognized by Malaysian Government) to cover your expenses during your stay in Malaysia;
5) Confirmed returned flight ticket;
6) Proof of accommodation; and
7) Other supporting documents.
